Methods of Reducing Carbon Dioxide

It has become common knowledge that carbon dioxide is the chief greenhouse gas and the leading cause of global warming. Excessive carbon dioxide in the atmosphere traps heat inside the planet, directly influencing climate change. One of the most apparent solutions to global warming would be to reduce the amount of atmospheric CO2, and there are several methods of achieving this.
Everybody has a carbon footprint, and if the world population can manage to reduce theirs, then millions of tons of carbon can be essentially prevented from entering the atmosphere. You can reduce your carbon footprint by being more energy efficient, which includes driving less and being conservative with home heating and cooling.
Using less helps keep new carbon dioxide from being emitted, but what about removing what is already there? We all know that one of the main sources of food for plants is carbon dioxide, so logically, if we plant more photosynthesizing organisms, then we will reduce levels of CO2. California is leading the way in this manner, with rooftop grass planting projects. By planting grass on the roofs of buildings, huge amounts of space that once served no purpose can actually do something useful.

Perhaps the most radical technologie
s involve huge machines that take carbon dioxide directly out of the air. While these machines are still young and not commercially viable, they may be the key to solving global warming. Prototypes have already been designed at universities, so it may not be too far off before we see them in public places.
While scientists are consistently proclaiming the climate change is an inevitable and irreversible truth, there is hope. By harmonizing alternative energies, such as solar, wind, geothermal, hydro, and tidal power, and introducing new technologies, we can put a stop to global warming, as well as make energy cheaper for everyone.
